-How to use the library’s resources

-How to evaluate websites

2)I think we should have learnt about refworks because I need help managing my citations.

3)It was interesting to learn about blogging and realize that the information I post can reach anyone on the planet. It is also really easy to use and makes handing in assignments very easy.

PsycARTICLES deals with anything that has to do with psychology and not just a narrow range of topics.it coverrs a pretty wide time span; from 1988 till the present time. The full texts are avaliable in the english language. It contains only journal articles. It is avaliable for use only on campus.

PsycINFO also deals with anything related to psycology as well aspsychiatryand sociology . It covers articles published since 1872 till the present however, the full texts may not always be avaliable. It  is updated weekly. It contains dissertations, books, book chaptersjournals and other documents. It is avaliable for use off campus.

I would probably use PsycINFO if I just want to look up something since it would yield more results quicker but for an indepth research i would probably use psycARTICLES since the articles are more relevant and it produces fewer results so going through the articles would be less time consuming plus the full texts are avaliable.

my research question: What are the effects of media violence on children?

Related academic disciplines:

-Psychology

-Sociology

-Journalism, media and mass communication

Related Majors and Minors:

-Psycology

-Journalism and mass communication

-Sociology

Helpful Databases:

-PsycARTICLES ; it contains texts on current issues from 1988 till now, and since my research topic is not obscure and  a lot of research has been carried out in this specific field there will definetley be articles on it specially since the time span is pretty large.

-PsycINFO ; it includes a lot of material on psycological and social science research, which are two fields I’m interested in.
